      Hi there

I recovered in past my all lost files through the TestDisk or through the R-Studio,those SW has recovered most, but all depends if HDD is still accessible etc

If you are formatted HDD then I would try Recuva or above mentioned TestDisk,in my case in past I’ve lost two 3TB Seagate which I’ve been not able recover at all, last time I’ve lost one 3TB Toshiba which I’ve been able to recover very easily

      Good luck there

      Hi Damien,
thank you for your reply. I decided in the end that it was a good thing in a way as I was hording many progs. The progs I mainly use I was able to download again. Not too bad, others were in a too poor rating to recover. I used Advanced System Care. At least I had all my Daz library and Photoshop data. Thanks again:):):)

Sometimes, it is good also to save your files on a DVD disc. This has no moving parts and it is safer than a hard drive alone.

I have 3TB of data, and i’m not sure what the largest DVD would be. A good idea, I will Google. Thanks:):)

There is a Bluray burner now that could burn upto 50GB but it would be larger before the end of this year upto 128GB. For now, just use the 25 GB size as this is cheaper than the rest and it is more popular meaning to say, it is easy to find them. You would have to sacrifice your time to transfer your 3TB files to several discs. I’ve been doing this to my files and until now they are in a safe place. I’m also using a 3TB Seagate HD and it is still working but I don’t rely to this HD alone. If I were you, whenever you save your file, save it right away to a DVD disc and don’t wait until it accumulates. Good luck!

Thanks for posting back to me. I will make a start and just burn some each time. I used to do that with all my MP3s, but then started to rely on my HDs because they got bigger and bigger. What do you think about those SSDs BTW??
