Lystrosaurus is a dicynodont therapsid of Late Permian and Early Triassic Period (around 250 million years ago). The fossils have been found from Antarctica, India, and South Africa,China,Mongolia and European Russia.
The animal was possibly a powerful digger that nested in burrows and was the most common terrestrial vertebrate of the Early Triassic. It was about 1 meter (3 feet) long.
